ME Miranda

Video Games Hurrah!

So I'm not really a video gaming kind of gal. My dad plays a bunch of them and I usually sit and watch, especially if they are RPGs and have a great story. I sat through all of L.A. Noire, Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City. The only video game I ever played all the way through was Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords. And that was on my computer. I actually played the first game on my xbox all the way up until the final boss. But I got too frustrated to continue when the enemies kept regenerating every time I turned a corner. I'm well known for playing a game right up until the end and then never finishing. The end of Bioshock is still waiting for me.

Anyways the point is that there was one game that I was dying to play but you have to shoot things and I suck at shooting things. That's why KOTOR was so awesome in its turn based action sequences. The game I wanted to play was Mass Effect. I've watched my Dad play bits and pieces and I've even played all the way through the Citadel portion but I never got past that point. I decided that I would just power through my shooting anxiety and play the damn game and I'm so glad I made that choice. The story really was amazing (all I cared about really) and I eventually grew to love all the action bits as well. Except for shooting shit in the MACO. I hated that.
